Information Collection and Use
As a visitor to our website and/or a user of Greatest Road Software applications, you should be aware that we collect and use information only as disclosed in this Policy.
Visitors to this website are free to browse the content of the site without registration. As a normal matter of the operation of our site, we collect web usage statistics that may include the domain name and/or the IP address from which you are accessing our site. This information is used to improve our web site and is never shared with other organizations or individuals for commercial purposes. Our web site is hosted by Bluehost and as such, you should be aware of their Privacy Policy as it may also affect you as a visitor to our web site. Please visit their web site and review their policy. Also, as a courtesy to our visitors, our website may contain links to websites other than those under our control. For users of Greatest Road Software applications, information pertinent to supporting and maintaining the quality of our software and/or related to the operation of the Greatest Road Software family of applications and services, including but not limited to information about the user's installed Greatest Road Software application and iPhone hardware and software, is transmitted to and logged by servers operated on behalf of Greatest Road Software each time the Greatest Road application is launched, in conjunction with the analytics engine via our partner Flurry, and in accordance with “push notification” if the user so elects. The information collected by Flurry is matched to the iPhone or iPod touch Unique Device Identifier (UDID), a unique number associated with an iPhone or iPod that contains no personally identifiable information, does not permit us to identify you, and does not give us any way of contacting you. We use this information to deliver services and to improve the quality of our products and services.
For users of the Greatest Road iPhone application, no personal information is required to start the application, to search for road stretches, to read comments and ratings, or to switch over to an in-ride navigation application such as Google Maps. To add any content, including but not limited to new stretches, comments or ratings, we require that you enter a nickname. This nickname is associated with your UDID, but is not required to be a real name and does not require any personally identifiable information such as an email address or phone number.
We may operate contests, promotions or various marketing activities that require you to provide contact information such as an email address, Twitter account or phone number. We will make clear to you the purpose of our having the contact information, and will give you a choice in how you allow us to use it. Not providing contact information or giving us the option to contact you may disqualify you from some promotions.
Our staff members at Greatest Road Software have been educated on the terms of this Policy and will make commercially reasonable efforts to safeguard your data. Even though we take such care, we cannot guarantee the security of your information on our system or servers or on those of our partners or suppliers.
