New version: Facebook, Google Maps, Flagging Poor Rides, Sorting and more

Several new features. New regular price. Get it at http://greatestroad.com/GetApp/ .

I wanted to give you all a heads up that we've released a new version of the Greatest Road iPhone app with several new features. Included now:

    * Post any route to a Facebook wall. See any route in Google Maps on a PC/Mac
    * Community flagging to identify routes that are repeats, too short or otherwise junk
    * Sort routes by rating, length, name or time of last change
    * See the total number of rides available on any map/list
    * View distances in miles or kilometers, depending on the country
    * Now available in English, German, French and Italian
    * Small bug fixes

At the same time, we've lowered our regular price to $4.99/equivalent worldwide and will keep it there until at least autumn.

    Thanks for all your support,

    Daniel

    - Google maps is, at times, less accurate than MapQuest. Is this a database problem, or a configuration (current data) problem?
    - I have GM on my iPhone: do the two interact ON the iPhone?

    Thanks Daniel!

    Hi InTTruder,

Is it the routing that seems strange or is there something wrong with the roads that are listed? It'd help if there were specific examples you could point to, since I haven't seen a direct comparison with Mapquest yet. I suspect that it's just Google picking a different path.

We do have the ability to hand a stretch off to GM, though Apple and Google are sporting a bug that's getting in our way and several contacts don't seem to be getting it resolved. On any stretch, tap the Start Ride button and you're there. For stretches with multiple waypoints, GM will show some segments as straight lines rather than following the road. We use the same URL in the email to friends, and it works on GM on a PC or Mac. It's frustrating for us too, and we apologize for the inconvenience while we figure it out.

    Thanks for being a customer,

    Daniel
